DanielakArt and The Women’s City Club of Pasadena at The Historic Blinn House are pleased to announce their fall art exhibition, “LA CUISINE” - A Celebration of Food Wine, Cafés & Restaurants.

The culinary themed exhibition, which runs through January 4, 2013, features fifty eight mouth-watering paintings and photographs by twenty-six California-based artists including Shula Singer Arbel, Sharon Beth, Karol Blumenthal, Scottie Brown, Meredith Greenberg, Brent Hanson, Nita Harper, Julie Hill, Lucie Hinden, Brenda Hurst, Anna T. Kelly, Marcelle La Cour, Lisa Mozzini-McDill, Margie Murray, Ferial Nassirzadeh, Robin Neudorfer, Patty O’Hearn, Terry Romero Paul, Madeline Prochazka, Marilyn Rothman, Mark Schwartz, Rene Sheret, Teri Starkweather, Linda Stelling, Beth Summers, Idie Weiss as well as Julie Snyder, Artist in Residence for the Women's City Club of Pasadena.

The Blinn House was built in 1905 for lumber baron Edmund Blinn and his family. The Blinns hired popular Chicago architect, George Washington Maher to design their California home in the Midwestern Prairie School Style. The building has been home to The Women’s City Club since 1945 and continues to serve the Pasadena community as a meeting place for civic, cultural, and educational activities.

“LA CUISINE” will be on view through January 4, 2013.  The Women’s City Club of Pasadena is located at 160 N. Oakland Avenue in Pasadena, CA 91101 next to Fuller Seminary. Free parking is accessible behind the building from Madison Avenue.

The Women’s City Club of Pasadena is open for art viewing Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and every third Saturday of each month. ** ENTRY DEADLINE IS FRIDAY AUGUST 31, 2012 **

Theme & Eligibility:  This is an open call to artists who live in the United States. The theme is to celebrate food and wine, cafés and restaurants.

Selection Process:
The Curator of Exhibitions for The Women’s City Club of Pasadena, Margaret Danielak, owner of DanielakArt, and one member of the Board of Directors of The Women’s City Club of Pasadena, will select the artwork. Artists may submit up to and including 10 works of art for consideration of which 3-5 will be considered for acceptance.  (A total of over 50 works will be selected for display).
This is a NATIONAL CALL TO ARTISTS. Artists must be 18 or older and living in the United States.  All artwork must have been created in the last five years and not have been exhibited previously at The Blinn House/Women’s City Club of Pasadena.  Please submit only your strongest images!     
Media:
O
il paintings, acrylics, pastels, watercolors, colored pencil drawings and still photographs will be considered.  No sculpture please.  Lighter, brighter works in lighter weight frames are greatly preferred and highly recommended but not required. (No nudity) Artists are encouraged to visit the website for the Women’s City Club of Pasadena at www.womenscityclub.com to learn more about the venue.
The Entry Form and administrative fee of $35.00 must be completed and returned to DanielakArt by Friday August 31, 2012 to be considered. 

Artists may submit up to and including 10 images only.  Electronic images should be in JPEG format, sized so as not to crash the Curator’s computer!  NO ZIP FILES PLEASE! Send multiple emails if necessary! 
The artist’s name should be included in the file name.  (e.g. J_Doe_SunsetOverHills.jpg)  Clearly indicate medium, size, title, and sales price for each image in the submission. Email by Friday August 31, 2012 to Margaret.danielak@gmail.com  SAY “CUISINE” in the subject line.
All artists are responsible for dropping off or delivering to the venue on Friday, September 28, 2012 in the morning.  Return cost of shipping will be at the expense of the artist. No exceptions.  If you live outside of the area, you will need to make arrangements for dropping off and picking up or shipping with an authorized representative for delivery.
Notification:  Artists will be notified of acceptance by email on or by Sunday, September 9th. 
Liability:  Artists are responsible for insuring work while in transit and on display at The Women’s City Club of Pasadena located at 160 N. Oakland Avenue, Pasadena, CA  91101.  Framed artwork ready to display is greatly preferred and highly recommended.
Photography:  DanielakArt and The Women’s City Club reserves the right to photograph works for publicity purposes.
Fee:  There is a $35 administrative fee payable to “DanielakArt” for up to and including 10 entries.    (NOT $35 per entry, but up to 10 images for $35!)
Award:  This is not a contest but an opportunity to show and sell your artwork. No awards will be given. Note that consistent sales are being made from this venue.
Artists Reception:  Tentatively scheduled for Thursday, October 4, 2012  from
6:30 pm to 9:00 pm. Artists who live in the area will be expected to attend.

Commission:  Artists will receive 50% of all sales of their work.  DanielakArt will receive 30%.  The Women’s City Club will receive 20%. Artists will be paid by DanielakArt on or by the 30th day after any art sale.    
Art buyers will be allowed to come into possession of their artwork as soon as a replacement work by the artist is made available. Artists will be required to maintain inventory sufficient to replace quickly any sold works as The Women’s City Club requires art on the walls at all times.

All sales will be handled by DanielakArt which will take a 50% commission on all sales, of which 20% will be given to The Women’s City Club of Pasadena. By completing the application form, should your artwork be accepted for exhibition, you give your consent for Margaret Danielak of DanielakArt to sell your artwork.  Artists will be encouraged to promote the exhibition.  Press, postcards and cross promotion, in addition to social media (Facebook and Twitter) will be employed to promote the show.

"Come fly with me!" Summer Exhibition at The Women's City Club of Pasadena



DanielakArt and The Women’s City Club of Pasadena at the Historic Blinn House are pleased to announce their summer art exhibition, “Come fly with me!” – Major Destinations and Exotic Locations. The 56 piece exhibition takes viewers on a visual journey around the world and runs through September 28, 2012.  The reception is Thursday, July 19 from 6 p.m to 9 p.m. A full catalog is available HERE.

The title of the exhibition, “Come fly with me!” was inspired by Frank Sinatra’s popular travel related album of the same name. The exhibition features the work of Judith Asher, Karol Blumenthal, Jose de Juan, Marian Fortunati, Brent Hanson, Debra Hintz, Fae Horowitz, Julie Hill, Ben Humphrey, Olga Kaczmar, Beverly Lazor, Marie Mustard, Christina Ramos, Julie Snyder, Linda Stelling, Teri Starkweather, Beth Summers, Barbara Tabachnick, Sharon Weaver and Felice Willat.

Theme & EligibilityThis is an open call to artists who live in the State of California. The theme is to celebrate travel. Paintings need to be of major destinations, exotic places and/or people enjoying themselves on vacation in romantic exciting/exotic places.  

Selection Process:  The Curator of Exhibitions for The Women’s City Club of Pasadena, Margaret Danielak, owner of DanielakArt, and one member of the Board of Directors of The Women’s City Club of Pasadena, will select the artwork. Artists may submit up to 10 works of art for consideration of which 3-5 will be considered for acceptance.  (A total of over 50 works will be selected for display). Artists must be 18 or older and must be living in the Golden State of California.  Professional artists and students are invited to apply.  All artwork must have been created in the last five years and not have been exhibited previously at The Blinn House/Women’s City Club of Pasadena.       

Media: Oil paintings, acrylics, pastels, watercolors, colored pencil drawings, still photographs and original poster art reminiscent of the 1950’s travel posters will be considered.  No sculpture please. Lighter, brighter works in lighter weight frames are greatly preferred and highly recommended but not required.
